Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colours in Ballerina, Organdi
Sep 16, 2012 - Chanel Infidèle Le Vernis is a beautiful mauve pink rose. It’s my favorite of the three Fashion’s Night Out polishes. The color is richly pigmented. I love that it seems to bring the fingers to life. It’s an intense pink but still demure. I like that it’s different from many of the bright pinks Chanel likes to create for the nails (ala Riviera, Rose Insolent, Rose Exhuberant etc.). It’s listed as limited-edition and retails for $26. I think it’s a must-have. Here it is swatched on me with two coats: Close up of the nail wheel: Some nail swatches on the fingers, on the nail wheel (two posts before) Infidèle looks like a close dupe Rose Confidentiel. On the fingers side by side, you can see the difference. Rose Confidentiel is more beigey and a more peachy pink while Infidèle is cooler-toned and more mauve. Jan 13, 2014 - Happy Valentine’s Day! A quick peek at the latest from Chanel: four new Le Vernis shades in Attraction, Frisson, Distraction & Tentation. I didn’t have enough time to take photographs of them swatched on the fingers before the sun went down yesterday. I did play a bit though, more swatches to come later. Initial thoughts: Attraction is a nightmare with streaking. Looks horrid. Frisson is sheer and requires 3+ coats to show up, but it’s a nice sheer shimmer. Distraction is a gorgeous coral with a fuschia sheen in the bottle, on the nails it’s more coral. Tentation is a fuschia/pink version of Rouge Carat. These close ups were taken with my iPhone, sorry about the craptastic quality. I’ll get better shots later. The one thing I wanted to post first was the comparisons for those wondering how similar/different the new shades are from prior releases. I hope this helps!

Aug 14, 2014 - Chanel Attraction 545 Le Vernis ($26 for 13 ml/0.4 fl oz) is a limited-edition cool-toned pearly white frost that has been released as part of the Roses Ultimes de Chanel collection. We saw the first sneak peek of this color on the Spring 2012 Runway Show last October on Café Makeup and La Chanelphile. Pearly whites can be challenging to wear and this one is no exception. The pigment is rich and color striking against my skintone, however the metallic formula is extremely streaky and difficult to wear. Even with very slow and careful application, streaks cannot be avoided. I am not a fan but am undecided whether to keep and try to make it work or regift/return. For the price I would prefer a non-high-maintenance nail color. Nevertheless here are swatches, comparisons and close ups. Pearly whites aren’t new to Chanel’s Le Vernis releases. I wish they would bring back their classic Le Perle (currently I’m hoarding this using very sparingly so it has not been swatched/photographed). Jun 4, 2012 - This is an up-close feature of the new Chanel Rose Paradise Nail Polish I purchased from Neimans a week ago from the Beauty Week Event. (Read about the other Neimans Exclusive Items Here.) In the bottle, it looks like a complex warm bronzey-pink shimmer, but on the fingers, it went on a bit lighter than it looked in the bottle. I guess it depends on what angle you hold the bottle at. I wouldn’t call it a duo-chrome, but there are so many different colors of shimmer in this little bottle, it looks different depending on how you hold it. Here it is, 2 coats, and it’s pure love: Compared to some other Chanel Pinkish Colors: I am super picky with pink nail polishes. Chanel usually comes out with great pinks. I love other brands like OPI and Essie, but warmer pinks don’t always work for my skin. They end up looking too coraly or have some color in it that makes my skin look very yellow. May 8, 2014 - Chanel Eastern Light #613 ($27, limited-edition) is a re-promoted shade in the Reflets D’Été de Chanel Summer Collection. It was originally released as a limited color with the Hong Kong Collection in February 2013 along with Western Light. I never reviewed it when it was released because it took me a while to track one down (mine is the original without a number on the label). If you missed out the last round, now is your chance to revisit and check it out. Eastern Light is a pure white. I had slight issues with application – it applied slightly streaky and uneven, but I was able to get full coverage with three coats. Even after a year of playing around with this shade on the fingers or on the toes, I’m undecided on how I feel about it. The white has a crisp clean sharp feel that contrasts sharply with my olive skin. I like the clean feeling it gives but it seems a bit too stark for my taste.
